Fall is my favorite time of year. It is the time of harvest, celebration of our hard work, and a time of deep appreciation for the abundance in our lives. It is a time to reflect and give thanks for the beauty all around us.
Sensuality of the Season
Fall offers a feast for the senses. We are surrounded by vibrant colors. Hearty smells waft from our ripened garden and envelop us in warmth indoors as we cook and store the bounty in preparation for the winter.
The long, hot days of summer wane and give way to cool mornings and evenings, and shorter days. Shadows grow longer and everything moves more slowly.

Honoring the Cycles
Fall represents the direction of the west, and maturity in our life cycle. In the cycle of our day, fall represents the setting of the sun, a time to complete our projects and rest. Our bodies begin wanting more sleep. Trust that; listen to your body’s wishes to stay healthy and store your energy.

Emotional Harmony
We begin to feel our “old skin” shed, opening our hearts to the harvest of the lessons of this year. Release anything negative or heavy that you don’t want to take with you into the dark, quiet introspection of winter. It is a time to deepen our meditation practice and move into softness for inner balance.

What abundance and beauty do you want to celebrate?
What do you want to let go of?
What do you want to honor?
How fully can you enjoy the process?
