Are you getting enough Vitamin U? (Unconditional love)
~I can’t give you unconditional love until I love myself unconditionally.
After years of treating myself like a rented mule, at first, this seemed like a crazy concept. Loving myself unconditionally? What!?
You mean it’s okay if I feel bloated, tired, frazzled, or messy?
I could actually accept that I don’t always say or do the “right” thing?
I don’t have to be perfect?
And, I can feel anger, sadness, or fear? I was taught to tuck them away neatly because society doesn’t think they are pretty, so people might not like me – you mean that isn’t true?
You’re saying I can allow my sensitivity to be my strength so that I can FEEL everything? Really???
Slowly it started to seep in…
When I am ME, with access to my wholeness and fullness, completely accepting myself as “I” am without conditions, something strange happens:
My concept of who “I” am collapses into oneness.
I become part-of rather than separate. Love fills every cell of my body and all of those “tools” that I have used to undermine my wholeness melt away.
I feel connected, loved, and loving.
The good news is that we ALL have enough Vitamin U to last us the rest of our lives. We just have to breathe it into our blood stream, into our heart, and out into the world.
Close your eyes and take 10 deep, deep, deep breaths of Vitamin U.
Open your eyes. How does the world look now?
