“Real freedom lies in wildness, not in civilization.”
~Charles Lindbergh
Part IV of IV- Spirit Wisdom
We all have fears; the problem is that some of us are dragged around by our fears. Playing it safe, hiding from what we fear, and holding back our truth.
It takes courage to be free from our limiting thoughts. Being fearless doesn’t mean that we have NO fear; it means that we don’t let our fear control our lives and undermine our dreams.
Ask yourself: “What am I afraid of?”
Take a good look at those “what ifs” that keep you from freedom; what if I lose my job or my family, what if I am not good enough, what ifit doesn’t happen the way I want it to? What if “they” think my idea is stupid or, what if I fail?
What if…none of those things happen!? Even if life doesn’t go the way we think it should, we will survive. I’m sure you’ve had the experience of imagining something to be far worse than it actually ended up being.
If we want to go future tripping, we can come up with thousands of what ifs that can drive us crazy and keep us from being relaxed and in the flow. When we bring our mind into the here and now, we can stop trying to control the future and have faith…I wouldn’t leap without it.
Practice being here and now by becoming fully aware of what is going on in your body and get grounded; literally feel your feet on the ground and let the rest of your body sink into it. Notice whether you are focused on the outcome or the future and bring your mind back to the “truth” of this moment.
What if we trusted that everything would turn out exactly as it is supposed to? What if we always have the support and resources we need? What if we have a plan, but don’t plan the outcome? The universe is not conspiring against us; it is our biggest cheerleader. That doesn’t mean that we always win, but we will always lose if we were too afraid to try.
“It is hard to fight an enemy who has outposts in your head.” ~Sally Kempton
If there is any aspect of your life that you are not happy with, YOU have the freedom to change it, you just have to become fearless. If we are not coming from fear, the other option is to come from love…what will it take to love your fears into freedom?
